Night Stay is a unique concept of Chitrakoota School. It is a concept given birth and cradled by our beloved Principal and Head Mistress and now it has become a festival for all of us, both the students and the teachers. On this day, students come in the afternoon after lunch, stay through the night and depart the next day in the morning after breakfast.
In the academic year 2014-15, the Night Stay took place on 14th of November, which happens to be the Children’s Day also. Students, right from 1st STD to 8th STD, came and stayed with their friends and teachers. Both students and teachers celebrated the event by playing many indoor and outdoor games, by dancing to the tune of many Bollywood and Tollywood numbers, having some cultural programme involving songs, skits, recitation and dance by the students of every class in their own classrooms, which were being witnessed by their fellow classmates and teachers.
Children were served some yummy sandwiches by the school which were specially made for them by the teachers and Head Mistress. Dinner, brought from their homes, was shared by students with their classmates and class teachers.
Since the day happened to be Children’s Day also, we teachers wanted to display a token of our love and affection for the students. And this was done by putting up a cultural programme in the auditorium. There, the teachers performed dances, skit, songs etc which were thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
Then all the children spent some more time chatting and playing games with their friends and teachers and then joyfully slept. Next day, in the early morning, the students got ready to go home after some physical exercise and light breakfast. But before going, the calendar for 2015 was distributed to the students as a memento for Children’s Day. The speciality of this calendar was that teachers had lovingly written a message of love to their children, which the children were over-joyed to receive.
The Night Stay is one event which strengthens the student-teacher bonding as they are able to spend some quality time together other than academics. We thank all the parents for their faith in us, for entrusting their wards’ safety in our hands. We appreciate the understanding and co- operation by parents in helping us to serve their children in a better way.
